Tom Hunter (Turnstone athlete, coach, referee & volunteer) attended the 2024 Wheelchair Curling Athlete Identification Camp which took place in Golden, Colorado on April 27-30! A total of fourteen athletes engaged in two and a half days of instruction and competition under the guidance of 2x Paralympian Steve Emt, National Team member Dan Rose, National Team Leader Marc DePerno and the amazing Denver Curling Club staff. This Athlete Identification Camp overlapped with the Selection Camp April 30 - May 2 to determine the National Team. The Identification camp started with an off-ice introduction to the sport—curling terminology, equipment, strategic concepts. On-ice instruction followed and incorporated delivery techniques, skill shots, and gameplay. Tom has his eyes set for earning a stop on Team USA for the 2030 Winter Paralympics
