Turnstone Staff and Supporters Kick-off Annual Giving Campaign to Demonstrate The Power of Community Unity

FORT WAYNE, IN (April 6, 2022) – Turnstone staff and supporters launched an online campaign on April 1 to bring the community together, display unity, and show their commitment to providing possibilities to people with disabilities.

The online “It’s Our Turn” campaign currently has a goal of $40,000, proceeds of which will be used to progress Turnstone’s mission of empowering children and adults with disabilities. All gifts made during the month of April will be matched, up to $20,000, by The Owen & Jean Pritchard Foundation. Those who want to get involved can donate or create their own fundraising page.

This peer-to-peer campaign follows the “First, People: Conversations” campaign that ran through the month of March. “First, People: Conversations” featured the stories of Turnstone friends, Tom Davis, Clif Wallace, Tina Acosta, and Lisa Czechowski, followed by a livestream Q&A event featuring John Register to celebrate Disability Awareness Month. Both the “First, People: Conversations” and the “It’s Our Turn” campaigns emphasize the impact community has on people with disabilities and their life journeys.

“During the month of March, we celebrated all that people with disabilities are capable of, and now we believe ‘It’s Our Turn’ to show them we are for them. Turnstone’s 78-year history in the Fort Wayne community has been made possible in large part due to loyal and passionate support from the community,” said Rena Shown, Chief Development Officer. “The support we continue to receive from our community is incredible and our gratitude is reflected in the care we provide our clients.”
