Turnstone Sled Hockey Athletes Selected to Compete At The Hendrickson Foundation Hockey Festival
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (May 31, 2023)– Turnstone sled hockey athletes Cai Davis and Kevin Hughes were selected to compete with a group of athletes from Illinois and Indiana at the Hendrickson Foundation Hockey Festival in Blaine, MN on June 2-4.
This festival will include a total of 61 teams from 18 states. Blind Hockey, Special Hockey, Warrior Hockey and Sled Hockey Divisions will be competing in this event. Turnstone athletes will be competing in Tier II versus teams from North Dakota, Alaska, and North Carolina.
Davis and Hughes helped Turnstone's sled hockey team finish their season with the following titles:
- Second place at Tier 4 Nationals
- 25th in the Nation
- Second in the State
- First in the Tier 3 Heartland League
Davis finished second on the team with 18 goals while also contributing 12 assists in 28 games as the team's first-line center. Hughes quarterbacked the defense with 17 points in 21 games where he was third on the team with 13 assists.
