Turnstone Endeavor Games Kick-Off A Summer of Volunteer Experiences & Sports Events

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (June 13, 2023) – Turnstone Center is seeking community members throughout the region to join them at their upcoming summer adaptive sporting events as volunteers. Volunteers play an important role in every event. Without the help of the community, many of these tournaments hosted at Turnstone would not be possible.

Volunteering with Turnstone is easy, fun, flexible, and inclusive. With the variety of events and volunteer shifts available, individuals can select a day and time that works best for their schedules. Individuals can sign up for their own shifts or coordinate group opportunities for a shared experience. There is no experience required for most volunteer roles and training is provided to all volunteers when needed.

Upcoming opportunities include the following:

Endeavor Games, June 23-25

Turnstone Endeavor Games kicks off on June 23 and runs through June 25. Fort Wayne will welcome over 100 athletes from across the United States. This adaptive sporting event includes competitions and clinics for 13 sports including air rifle shooting, archery, boccia, fencing, field, goalball, power soccer, sit volleyball, swimming, tennis, track, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair softball. All Abilities Camp, July 10-14

All Abilities Camp is an inclusive summer camp offered for people ages 8-18. This camp is from July 10 – 14 and volunteers are needed from 8:30 am - 1 pm to help set up, assist with activities, and tear down. Activities at this camp include Zot Artz, cycling, boccia, basketball, Bang the Drum, and Jared the comfort dog. Sign up here!

Train4Turnstone

If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity that will help you get active and meet new people, sign up to help with Train4Turnstone! Turnstone needs volunteers to assist clients in training to participate in the Fort4Fitness events on September 30. This program is held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until September 21. Training sessions are scheduled to take place outside or, if the weather does not permit, inside on Turnstone’s track. Sign up here!
