Turnstone Center Holds Call-Out Meetings for Athletes Interested in Joining Upcoming Sports Seasons
FORT WAYNE, IN (July 31, 2019) – Call-out meetings for Turnstone’s competitive adaptive sports teams are open to interested individuals for the 2019-2020 season. Anyone interested in competing during the upcoming season should attend one of the call-out meetings. Call-out meetings will take place on various evenings starting August 18:
- Sled Hockey (August 18, 4:30pm)—Canlan Ice House
- Wheelchair Rugby (August 19, 6:30pm)—Turnstone
- Adult Wheelchair Basketball (August 20, 5:30pm)—Turnstone
- Varsity Wheelchair Basketball for ages 14-18 (August 20, 6:30pm)—Turnstone
- Power Soccer (August 26, 5:30pm)—Turnstone
Turnstone is recognized regionally and nationally for the caliber of its competitive sports teams’ abilities and accomplishments. In recent seasons, Turnstone’s Varsity Wheelchair Basketball teams have been ranked in the top 10 nationally, and Turnstone’s sled hockey team has earned national champion and runner up accolades at the Disabled Hockey Festival.
Turnstone retains designations as both a Gold Level Paralympic Sport Club and Paralympic Training Site. Resources are available year-round for aspiring and elite athletes to train and compete in their sports of choice.
