Sports & Rec: Let the Games Begin

Turnstone sports are in full action. Our teams are traveling, and we've been hosting teams from all over the nation. If you would like to get involved as a volunteer, athlete or sponsor contact Kevin Hughes at 260-969-7654 or [email protected] today.

Here's a quick breakdown of how our teams have started their season.

Wheelchair Basketball - Varsity Division, High School age

Turnstone/RHI wheelchair basketball team is off to a strong start as they're tied for #5 in the national standings with a 6-2 overall record. The games have been tight as Turnstone is only outscoring their opponents by 5.9 points per game. At their home Halloween tournament (October 29-30), Turnstone kept the crowd on the edge of their seat with an overtime buzzer-beater, 3-point basket from Kaiden Schaf over the Mad City Badgers from Madison, WI. The Badgers ended up beating us in the championship by 1 point on a shooting foul with 2 seconds left in the match.

Turnstone ended up defeating Rancho Halos from Los Angeles, CA, by 10 and 13 points. Turnstone also had a pair of victories over MFB Jr. Pacers from Grand Rapids with 16 and 12 points. The largest victory was a 21-point win over the Jr. Mustangs from Louisville while the largest defeat was by 17 from Mississippi Wheelcats.

During our home tournament, Kaiden Schaf was named 1st Team All-Tournament while Cole Connelley and Ashlyn Olnick earned 2nd Team All-Tournament.

Next Tournament: January 7-8 in Whitewater, WI (Northern Regional)
