Turnstone's Premier Cup soccer team, the Flyers, is undefeated after four matches as they hosted games December 3-4. Last season, the team finished as the runner-up in the nation. The Flyers' first match was against GLASA Fire from Chicago. The two teams were 0-0 at half-time. Early in the second half, the Flyers got on the board with a solid goal from David Dowling who also competes on Team USA. Derek Sellers sealed the 2-0 victory with a pass from Luke Labas. The Flyers were clicking on all cylinders with a 4-0 victory over the RHI Sudden Impact. Dowling picked up the game-winning goal again, this time in the opening drive of the game from a pass by Labas. Labas ended up scoring 2 goals while first-year player, Theo Thompson, picked up the assist on this first goal. Sellers added the final goal in the match. In the third match, the DASA Cyclones put Turnstone on their heels by scoring the opening 2 goals. “Mr. USA” Dowling answered with two back-to-back goals to tie the game and finish off the first half. About ten minutes into the second half, Turnstone rookie, Thompson, scored the game-winning goal and Sellers added the final goal of the match for the third straight game in a 4-2 victory. Labas contributed 3 assists. In the Flyers' final match, Tiffany Labas picked up her three shutouts, and Sellers scored his four straight goals the lead the Flyers to a 1-0 victory over the Circle City Rollers from Greenwood, IN.

Turnstone's Founders Cup team, the Furious Flyers, battled hard in each game with a 0-3-1 record in the opening weekend games. Furious started off with a match versus the higher-cup team, ASPO Force. The Force veteran's talent was the deciding factor in a 0-3 defeat. Turnstone's first-year athlete, Evelyn Brinker, scored in the opening minute of the second match versus the Mary Free Bed (MFB) Overdrive from Grand Rapids. The Overdrive is led by former Turnstone athlete, Brandon Stump, who had the lone assist in a 1-1 tied. Owen Donahue was able to join our team on day two as he was watching the games remotely and itching to get back on the court. Furious Flyers looked fantastic in their team communication and positioning. Second-year athlete, Kadence Waldron; led the charge; however, Turnstone was just shy in a 0-1 loss to the Host Shots from Greenfield, IN. In the final match of the weekend, there was a goal in the very first minute along with the very last minute of the match. Unfortunately, both goals plus one in between were by the Overdrive as MFB had the upper hand in this 0-3 rematch. In between the pipes, veteran athlete, Lucas Wable was stellar and only gave up one goal in two matches, finishing with a 2.0 Goals Against Average for the weekend.
