Sled Hockey Recap: Dec. 3-5

December 3-5, 2021

Turnstone traveled to Chicago for their toughest stretch of the season in the Heartland League. Game one was late Friday night vs the Wildcats from Wooster, OH. The teams joked that we all could have saved some time if we played in Fort Wayne instead. While the players were joking about getting some extra rest, the goaltenders from both teams were on their A-Game. While Turnstone struggled to score, the Wildcats were only a little more successful in a 3-0 victory. The next two games were on Saturday versus Chicago-based teams. In the late morning game, Turnstone started off strong but couldn't outlast the GLASA Falcons from Lake Forest, IL. In the evening game, the Flyers were clicking on all cylinders in a 4-0 victory over the Hornets from Mt. Prospect, IL. In the final game on Sunday late morning, the Flyers took on the toughest team in the Heartland League, the Wild from Minneapolis, MN who went a combined 23-2 in the three games prior. Turnstone had plenty of time to prepare for this game and was geared up. The game was much tighter than the results will show as the Flyers put on quite a fight in a 0-5 loss.

Turnstone is 4-5 for the season. Elliot Mohre leads the team in points (9) and goals (6). Cai Davis is second in goals (5) while John Pfeiffer leads the team in assists (6). Skylar Osborn and Allison Parker picked up their first-ever point with each getting an assist.
