February Sports Spotlight

Turnstone has 6 teams competing in 4 sports (Basketball, Soccer, Rugby & Hockey). We're at the halfway point for our hockey, rugby & basketball teams while soccer is just getting their season started. Here’s a quick breakdown of each team's current standing and when the next home/away games have been scheduled: Premier Cup Division – Turnstone Flyers – Power Soccer

Team Record: 4-4

National Ranking: 5th out of 67 teams

Next Home Tournament: March 7-8

Next Away Tournament: March 27-28 (Greenwood, IN)

Our Premier Cup team continues to show they're one of the top teams in the nation as they split games with the #2 RHI Sudden Impact (Indianapolis, IN) 1-0 & 0-2 respectively. They also defeated #9 DASA Cyclones (St. Peters,MO) 7-0 to close out this month 2-1.

Luke Labas leads the team with 16 points (6 goals & 10 assists) while Danila Vorndran leads the team in goals with 7 (11 Points).

Tier 4 Division – Turnstone Flyers – Sled Hockey

Team Record: 6-6-1

National Ranking: Finished 2nd in Tier 4 Last Season

Next Home Tournament: February 22-23 (at Parkview Icehouse)

Next Away Tournament: March 20-22 (Grand Rapids, MI)

The Flyers are 5-1 in their last 6 games as they head into their home tournament (February 22-23). Nick Hatfield leads the team with 11 Points & 9 Assists while Cai Davis leads the team with 6 Goals to add to his 8 Points. Behind the pipes, Goalie, Gary Hurt has 3 Shutouts.Turnstone became the first opponent (January 4, 2020) of the newly created team, Steel, from Indianapolis, IN. Turnstone has been active in helping the Indy area since January 30, 2010 when we ran their first clinic. There has been many different reincarnations of the Indy program during this time. This was the first time the Indy program has competed in an official game. We're very proud to see how far they have come as the future looks bright.
