DONATIONS TO TURNSTONE WILL BE DOUBLED ON #GIVINGTUESDAY AND THROUGH THE END OF THIS YEAR
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (November 27, 2023)— Turnstone is excited to announce that on GivingTuesday this year all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to one million dollars thanks to a grant provided by the State of Indiana. The community is invited to celebrate GivingTuesday on Tuesday, November 28, by making a matched donation, joining the PEP Club*, volunteering time, or donating an item from their becauseOne online room.
“We are so grateful for the generosity that we witness from the community on GivingTuesday every year. And, this year, we’re thrilled that donors have the incredible opportunity to celebrate our 80th anniversary while doubling the impact of their donations matched by funds from the State of Indiana.” says Rena Shown, Turnstone’s Chief Development Officer.
This GivingTuesday, Turnstone hopes to partner with donors to raise $20,000, moving closer to their $1,000,000 end-of-year goal. Supporters have contributed $345,000 towards that goal since their 80th birthday celebration on October 5.
All funds raised directly support people with disabilities in our community by providing access to services regardless of their ability to pay. A group of volunteers founded Turnstone in 1943, and it is only because of the community’s support that they are able to continue providing life-changing, comprehensive services and resources to thousands of adults and children each year.
In the weeks leading up to GivingTuesday, Turnstone shared stories from clients Kirsten and Robb to highlight how important the community’s support is to every single Turnstone client. On GivingTuesday, Turnstone will feature three more stories of individuals. Stay tuned to read these stories as they are released online throughout the day.
