Rehab Therapy Services

Therapy services are provided for children with physical disabilities due to orthopedic or neurological conditions or those with developmental delays due to neurological conditions. Therapy is provided at Turnstone for children in our Preschool / ELC programs or those attending on an outpatient basis. Our therapists enjoy a variety of treatment mediums available within the facility including our Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) Lab and Snoezelen Room. 

Therapy services are provided for adults with neurological and physical disabilities related but not limited to stroke, traumatic brain injury, and Parkinson's disease. Therapy is client focused to assist the individual to have the ability to be an independent communicator in all settings. 

Speech Language Pathologist (ASHA certified CCC-SLP or SLP-A) - pediatric and adult expereince is preferred. 

This position is temporary with possible future part time position.

Fitness Specialist

Turnstone is seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and creative fitness specialist to assist people with disabilities in its adaptive fitness center and warm water therapy pools. 

Duties include:

  • Conducting assessments
  • Establishing individualized exercise programs based on strengths and abilities
  • Training on equipment
  • Monitoring progress and upgrading programs as needed to assist participant in obtaining fitness goals
  • Instructing classes
  • Strength and conditioning training with athletes

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of health education, adaptive physical education, exercise science, exercise physiology or related field. 

The Fitness Specialist shall obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification. Fitness Specialist shall also possess the ability to prioritize, coordinate, communicate effectively via oral, written, or computer-generated formats, and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with staff, clients, and families. Clinical experience with people with disabilities preferred. Full time position with benefits. Flexible schedule with evening and Saturday hours.

Concessions Coordinator & Weekend Supervisor

Turnstone is seeking a Concessions Coordinator/Weekend Supervisor. This position is responsible for planning and executing concessions operations for tournaments and events. When operating weekend concessions, this position also assists with set-up and clean-up of events, as well as supervises the facility. 

Duties include:

  • Provide efficient, timley and effective organization, leadership and communication
  • Develop concessions menu and promote items during events to increase sales
  • Adhere to a budget
  • Train volunteers and work with co-workers in a positive team building manner
  • over see facility to ensure safe environment and smooth operation of weekend events.
  • This is a hourly part-time position which often includes weekends. 

This position requires a high school diploma. The preferred candidate will have experience in the food service industry. In addition the Concessions Coordinator/Weekend Supervisor shall possess good oral and written communication skills, have ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with staff, families, and clients, and remain true to the mission of the agency. This position requires current and maintained certification in CPR and First Aid.

Nighttime Janitor

Turnstone is seeking a Nighttime Janitor. This position will maintain a clean and safe facility for the agency clients, staff, and activities.  

Duties include:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of things such as floors and bathrooms
  • Maintain equipment needed for cleaning functions
  • Complete minor repairs as needed
  • Assist with event setup and cleanup

This is a third shift, full-time position, working regular hours of Monday through Friday, 11pm-7am and occasional weekends as needed.

This position requires 2 years of experience in janitorial services. The incumbent must be able to operate floor machines, hydraulic lift and other cleaning equipment, move furniture and lift up to 50 pounds.

Sponsorship Coordinator

Turnstone is seeking a take charge professional to plan, organize, and execute its annual fundraising efforts in the area of sponsorship.  Must maintain adequate records, set and achieve agreed upon budget and abide by agency policies.  The Sponsorship Coordinator will assist the Special Events Coordinator when necessary with the research and cultivation of sponsors for events. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sponsorship fundraising required.  This is a full time position with benefits.  Some evening and weekend hours required.

Lifeguards

Turnstone is seeking enthusiastic and outgoing lifeguards to work with people with disabilities of all ages in their warm water therapy pool.   Lifeguards are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all pool patrons.  This includes constant surveillance of patrons while in the facility; acting immediately in an emergency and providing appropriate CPR and first aid skills; providing care and treatment as required until emergency personnel arrive; abiding by, and showing authority with all Board of Health and Turnstone rules and regulations; testing and maintaining balanced chemicals; completing annual lifeguard requirements and training; and maintaining equipment in good, working, and safe condition and stored appropriately. Training includes current basic lifeguarding certification, adult/infant/child CPR, blood borne pathogens, and standard first aid (recognized sources - American Red Cross, Ellis, YMCA, or YWCA).   Must be at least 18 years of age.  Full time and part time positions with benefits.  Flexible schedule Monday through Saturday with evening and possible Sunday hours.
