Rock Steady Boxing at Turnstone
Rock Steady Boxing is an adaptive exercise program for people with Parkinson’s disease that utilizes training based on professional boxing programs and aims to slow the progression of Parkinson's. The program involves regular exercises, such as stretching, bicycling, running, jumping rope, push-ups, balancing and lots of non-contact boxing. Each class is led by experienced trainers/coaches. Rock Steady Boxing classes welcome both men and women of all ages and levels of ability.

What is Rock Steady Boxing?
Rock Steady Boxing, Inc., a nonprofit organization, was founded in Indianapolis. The Rock Steady Boxing Method was developed over the course of seven years. Classes are geared to people at all stages of Parkinson’s disease and include men and women ranging in age from 35 to 90. Multiple volunteers contribute their time and talents to assist with the classes. Turnstone’s Fitness & Aquatic Center is the only exercise facility in northeast Indiana designed to include people with physical disabilities. The facility includes fully accessible fitness equipment, exercise programs, a 230-meter indoor track, and a warm-water therapeutic pool.
Turnstone’s therapists are experienced, client-focused, and dedicated to maximizing the independence of every client. Therapists determine the need for skilled treatment and the scope of therapy through an initial evaluation, which then allows the therapist to create an individualized treatment plan.
