Robb's Turnstone Experience

After moving from Indianapolis to Fort Wayne, Robb had planned to go to work with his sister so she could be with him during the day. However, someone suggested looking into Turnstone's Adult Day Services (ADS) program. He discovered that he was eligible to attend the program and has been coming to Turnstone for about three years now.

In the last three years, Robb has created long-lasting relationships with Turnstone's ADS staff and clients. ADS helps keep Robb's mind sharp and is a great, safe place for him to socialize and engage in hobbies while his sister is at work. He enjoys all the activities and amenities that clients have available to them throughout the day. Some of his favorite activities include arts and crafts, cooking classes, and games, especially dice games.

"I don't win very much. In fact, we all joke around about how often I lose, but I won a game just the other day," joked Robb.

He also enjoys having close access to the fitness and aquatic center as it is just a short walk through the building. He finds it helpful to have the fitness staff work one-on-one with him to learn new exercises and improve his strength.

"Since coming to the fitness center, I have seen improvement in my shoulder strength," said Robb. "I also like that the staff is very conscious of clients and they are always willing to help and provide one on one attention if needed.”
