Records Management Specialist

Turnstone is looking for an energetic, detailed oriented and organized individual to audit and scan client records. This position is part-time, at 20 hours per week.

This would be a perfect position for someone with experience within the following areas:

  • Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy
  • Nursing or other healthcare-related fields
  • Medical Records

Summary

Responsible for obtaining, auditing, correcting, scanning all appropriate client record according to established procedures and standards.

Education

  • At minimum a high school diploma, or GED.
  • Prefer undergraduate degree in a related health science field;
  • Completion of medical terminology course preferred.

Experience

  • Hospital record management experience helpful; competence in using a variety of database systems.

Other Qualifications

Must demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented, analytical with problem-solving, and perform tasks at a high rate of accuracy. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and work well within a team.   

Grant Development Director

Turnstone is seeking an ambitious and growth-focused Grant Development Director to lead fundraising efforts related to foundation, corporate and organizational priorities. By demonstrating a focus on relationships and strategic collaboration with internal and external partners, the Grant Development Director will be responsible for identifying and fostering new opportunities that result in increased funding on a local, regional and national level. The Grant Development Director will also collaborate with Turnstone leadership to nurture relationships with current and prospective donors and proactively manage existing grants updates and projects, which will include all activities necessary for establishing and building mutually beneficial partnerships.

The Grant Development Director will play a key role in Turnstone’s development and fundraising strategic growth initiatives in response to evolving organizational needs and will contribute to the building momentum surrounding Turnstone’s mission of empowering people with disabilities to achieve their highest potential.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related subject area
  • 5 years experience in grant management or fundraising
  • Ability to work cooperatively with volunteers, agency board members, staff members, and general public
  • Written communication skills needed to independently develop grant applications and professional reports
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and plan a full grants calendar strategically across multiple fiscal years
  • Verbally communicate organizational results in foundation meetings and agency visits in the absence of the Chief Development Officer

 

Part Time Teaching Assistant

The Kimbrough Early Learning Center at Turnstone is seeking a part time Teaching Assistant with potential hours of 6:30-8:00am and 3:00-5:30pm, Monday through Friday. This position is a great opportunity for FWCS para professionals or students and/or retirees from education and special education.

The Teaching Assistant provides assistance in group and individualized instruction and supervision of the children.  In addition, the candidate must have the ability to make independent decisions within the scope of duties; ability to plan and prioritize; possess excellent communication skills; the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with peers and clients. 

 

Requirements:

  • Current and maintained certification in First Aide
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

 

The Teaching Assistant, under the direction and supervision of the Lead Teacher and the Director of Kimbrough Early Learning Center, will: 

  • Assist in the preparation of daily activities.
  • Provide for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of children.
  • Assist in personal needs of the children.
  • Assist in classroom activities:  follow through with objectives, outcomes, and progress as established by the teacher.  Assist with games, feeding, music and free-play. 
  • Assist in keeping classroom area clean and orderly; organizing, washing toys, dishes and laundry.
  • Must possess adequate strength and endurance necessary to assist clients with transfers, ambulation and other functional mobility activities.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Substitute Teaching Assistants

The Kimbrough Early Learning Center at Turnstone is seeking 3 (three) Substitute Teaching Assistants with potential hours of: 6:30am – 5:30pm,  Monday through Friday. These positions are great opportunities for students in the following areas of study and/or retirees from:

Lifeguard

Turnstone is seeking enthusiastic and outgoing lifeguards to work with people with disabilities of all ages in their warm water therapy pool.  

Lifeguards are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all pool patrons. This includes constant surveillance of patrons while in the facility; acting immediately in an emergency and providing appropriate CPR and first aid skills; providing care and treatment as required until emergency personnel arrive; abiding by, and showing authority with all Board of Health and Turnstone rules and regulations; testing and maintaining balanced chemicals; completing annual lifeguard requirements and training; and maintaining equipment in good, working, and safe condition and stored appropriately.  Training includes current basic lifeguarding certification, adult/infant/child CPR, blood borne pathogens, and standard first aid (recognized sources – American Red Cross, Ellis, YMCA, or YWCA).

Must be at least 18 years of age.

These positions are part-time with flexible hours Monday through Saturday with evenings and possible Sunday hours.
