Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies
The Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies program encourages veterans to increase their physical activity, improve the ability to make healthy lifestyle choices, increase opportunities for networking with other veterans and their families, and to have fun. The program is offered free of charge to qualified veterans, and is supported by a grant from the Olympic Opportunity Fund. Fort 4 Fitness: Team Turnstone
Individuals participating the 2017 Fort 4 Fitness 4-mile, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, senior marathon, and kids marathon can raise money and generate awareness for Turnstone by designating the agency as a Charity Partner and joining Team Turnstone. You commit to raising $45 in pledges for Turnstone, and you'll receive a Team Turnstone t-shirt to wear on race day (September 29 for the senior and kids marathons, and September 30 for all other races).
Fort 4 Fitness is open to walkers, runners, and rollers. Training classes, led by Turnsonte fitness specialsts and sports and recreation staff, are available to help you get race-ready. Classes are held May - September in local parks.

Parent Enrichment Program
Turnstone presents a series of day and evening programs twice per year on topics of interest to parents. Childcare may be available at no cost with advance notice. Topics have included Understanding Your Child’s Behavior, 40 Developmental Assets, Navigating the Funding/Resources World, and What is Behavior. Caregiver Support Group
Turnstone supports a caregiver support group for anyone that is a caregiver of someone aged 18 and above. It is facilitated by a Turnstone staff member and a volunteer. Meetings happen Wednesdays at 2 p.m. in the Adult Conference Room at Turnstone. For more information, contact Sandy Holland (260) 483-2100.
Fort Wayne Amputee Support Group
The Fort Wayne Amputee Support Group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month from 7:00-8:30 pm. at Turnstone. Guest speakers present information each month on pertinent topics. For more information, contact an adult social worker (260) 483-2100.
Parent Support Group
Turnstone’s Parent Support Group allows the primary caregivers of children with disabilities to meet one another and share experiences. Discussion topics may include how to deal with behaviors, how to be an advocate for your child, how to navigate school system services, how to deal with the challenges of raising a child with a disability, and other issues. The group is led by Jan Labas. Parent Support Group meets the third Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:00 pm. Meetings will cancel if Fort Wayne Community Schools cancels due to weather. Parkinson's Support Group
The Parkinson’s Support Group meets the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm (except December). The group's goal is provide an open and supportive atmosphere that encourages individuals and families affected by Parkinson's disease to interact and exchange information. The group also enlightens members about helpful resources within the community through educational programs by doctors and other medical professionals. Parkinson's Caregiver Support Group
Turnstone sponsors a support group for spouses and caregivers of those affected by Parkinson’s disease every Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 am. The group provides an open and supportive atmosphere that encourages caregivers and families affected by the disease to interact and exchange information. Turnstone also offers an exercise group and a communication group for the client with Parkinson’s disease.
Parkinson’s Exercise Group
The Parkinson’s Exercise Group is offered year round at Turnstone. Classes are led by our Fitness Specialists and are tailored to meet the needs of adults with Parkinson's disease. Classes include range-of-motion and stretching exercises, resistance exercises with dumbbells and exercise bands, and functional training activities. Parkinson’s Speech Class
Individuals with Parkinson’s disease often have difficulties in the areas of voice, swallowing, and memory/cognition (thinking). Come join our group to meet other members and to learn and practice specific exercises, taught by Turnstone Speech Pathologists, to help maintain these areas. A spouse or caregiver is welcome at no charge. The group meets on Mondays & Wednesdays from 9:30-10:15 am in the Plassman Athletic Center. Amputee Walking School
