Fort Wayne Hosts Wheelchair Tournament

Fort Wayne, IN – On June 10-12 Turnstone will present the region’s 9th Annual Wheelchair Tennis Open.  24 Athletes will compete for $2,500 in possible tournament winnings.  This event is sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association.  4 athletes will be participating in a tournament for the first time. 1 Turnstone athlete will also be playing this weekend. 

On Friday, June 10th, kicking off the Tournament will be an Up/Down social from 6:00pm-7:30pm. This is a ‘doubles’ match where one partner is standing ‘up’ playing and the other is sitting ‘down’Friday, May 30
To kick-off the tournament we’ll host an Up/down Social from 6-9pm – This is ‘Doubles’ where one partner is standing ’Up’ playing while the other partner is sitting ’Down’ competing in a wheelchair. competing in a wheelchair.

Official wheelchair tennis matches will be held on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday June 12 with matches beginning at 9am on both days with final matches on Saturday around 5pm while Sunday final matches conclude at approximately 3pm. Admission is free.  All Matches (including the up/down) will be played at Fred Zollner Tennis Complex (1601 Saint Joe River Drive. Fort Wayne, IN 46805)
