Carrasquillo has over 10 years of marketing and communication experience, most recently serving as the Director of Communication for The Parkview Foundations of Parkview Health System.  She also has accumulated over 15 years of nonprofit industry experience, serving on numerous local, regional and state non-profit boards and committees. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Media & Public Communication and Interpersonal & Organizational Communication from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and her Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana Tech.

Chanda joined Turnstone in May 1998. She holds Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Bowling Green State University.

She started at Turnstone as a volunteer while an undergraduate at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.  Turnstone's mission brought her back and she applied for a job when her graduate studies were completed.  "I LOVE working at Turnstone and appreciate that everyone is accepted and welcomed.  It is an honor and a privilege to come to work every day and be a part of these children’s lives."   Given her tenure at Turnstone, Chanda she has seen the long-term effects of the hard work and effort put forth by staff, children, and families.  Over the years her responsibilities have changed, but her love for what Turnstone stands for has not.  "It is a joy to come to work each day and continue to create more possibilities."

Michelle joined Turnstone in September 1999. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of Indianapolis.

Though Michelle's original plan was to become a physical therapist, a chance conversation between her parents and Turnstone's then-CEO alerted her to a job opening for a Therapy Aide at Turnstone.  She was hired for that position, but her role has changed over the years.  Shortly after she was hired, Turnstone added a therapy pool, which soon became Michelle's focus.  "Turnstone holds a special place in my heart.  I cannot picture working anywhere else.  The staff are passionate, dedicated, and are here to support the mission and vision.  The clients are here to make positive changes in their lives – physically stay healthy, socialize and meet new people, support each other, and reassure me that what I am doing here is worth it. "

Kathy joined Turnstone in June 1991. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, in Personality and Social Psychology.  She is a licensed social worker and certified as an Indiana Navigator.  Prior to joining Turnstone, Kathy worked in Topeka, Kansas for the National Council on Alcoholism, in Madison, Wisconsin for Goodwill Industries and in Tucson, Arizona for Kino Community Hospital.

At Turnstone, Kathy is responsible for the social work department staff which arrange services for our clients, and provides ongoing case management services and resource and referral information to those in need.

Sandy worked as a nurse in local hospitals and clinics for 25 years before coming to Turnstone in 2013 to take on the role of Adult Day Services Manager.  Sandy also functions as the Registered Nurse for the agency.  "Turnstone is an amazing place to work with dedicated staff and clients that teach me so much daily."

Adrianne Lyon has been the Director of the Kimbrough Early Learning Center at Turnstone since 2004. Before joining Turnstone she taught Early Childhood Special Education for 8 years.  Adrianne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University and a Master’s degree in Special Education with an emphasis in early childhood from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and has an Indiana teaching license.  She has presented at several Fort Wayne Association for the Education of Young Children conferences as well as on the state and national level. Adrianne is also a certified instructor for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.  She oversees the day-to-day operations of the KELC and is an active participant in several agency committees, including the Safety Committee.

Rena Burden, joined the Turnstone team as the Chief Development Officer, on January 25, 2017. Prior to coming to Turnstone Rena worked as Community Campaign Director for United Way of Allen County, Director of Development for Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne and was most recently employed as Human Resources Manager for ChromaSource, Inc. in Columbia City.

Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Francis. Laura brings a strong and varied background in not-for-profit management and finance to Turnstone.

Denise Hughes joined the Turnstone team as the Chief Program Officer in 2016. Denise has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and certification in Rehabilitation Nursing.  She has 30 years of experience in healthcare, primarily in acute inpatient rehabilitation, and in a community-based organization.  Her experience includes nursing management, working with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team in care delivery, responsibility for quality and regulatory compliance,  program evaluation and improvement, reporting, and community-based nursing.   She has Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) surveyor experience.

Chief Executive Officer Mike Mushett has devoted more than 35 years to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities. He has been a national leader in the development of adaptive recreation and Paralympic sport programs at the community, national, and international levels. Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Recreation & Leisure Services and holds a certificate from the Olympic Sport Leadership Program from the Northwestern University School of Management.
